Cotton Raw,in the Madras Presidency :The receipts of loose at presses and spinning mills in the Madras Prsidency from 1st February 1949 to 28-10-1949amounted to 3,72,581bales of 392lb.lint.The reeipt in the corresponding period of the previous year were 3,37,443bales.4,88,253bales mainly of pressed cotton were received at spinning mills and 5,426bales were exported by sea while 92,623bales were imported by sea mainly from Karachi and Bombay.
