Cotton Raw,in the Madras Presidency:The receipts of losse cotton a presss and spinning mills in the Madras Presidency from 1st February,1949 to 29th July.1949 amounted to 250,047 bales of 392 lb.Lint as against an estimate of bales of the total crop of 1949.The receipts in the corresponding period of the previous year were 287,475bales. 333,531 bales mainly of pressed cotton were received at spinning mills and 2,835 bales were exported by sea while 65,324 bales were imported by sea mainly from Krachi ab Bombay (From Director of Agriultre ,Madurai).
