Abstract

I have had the honour of being your elected representative on the Madras Senate for live terms.on the academic Council for four terms and on the Syncicate for two trms:and, although I feel active enough to carry on,I think the time has arrived for e to retire from the above university bodies. Agricultural Education is now represented on the Senate by the Principle, and on the Academic Council by the Principal and two members of the teaching staff elected by themselves. You will all agree with me that this is not sufficient representation for us in the University of Madras and that there is need for us to secure a more adequate representation.A number of points must be constantly borne in mind to ensure success in the elections to the different University Authorities.
