Ten wild rice types, forty eight crop plants and eighty four weed hosts were artificially Inoculated with the sheath blight pathogen-Rhizoctonia solani and studied the host range of R. solani, The wild rices viz. Oryza australiansis and Oryze nivar ware more suscs-ptible to the disease than others tested. The crop plants viz. Echinochloa colonum var. frumentacea, zea mays, Eleusime coracana and Pennisetum typhoides were highly susce ptible to the dianase. The grassas Frichios procara, Impaenta cylindrica, Saccharum spontaneum and Urocols paticoides wars mora vulnerable to the disease.
