Eighty five and 72 lines of mungbean germplasm were evaluated in 1978 and 1979 respec tivaly The 'Lam GG 127' and 'CC 1' were earliest maturing lines. The highest number of peds were recorded in 'LM 294-1 (118.6) and 'ML 5 (1304) in 1978 and 1979 respectively. 'LM 294-1 also gave the highest yield (24.59 g) in 1978. EC 162000-1' has highest number of seeds/pod (12.1) and yove the highest yield (26.60 gm) in 1979 The lines viz, 11/99, 11/396' and 16-303-20-3-g' were resistant tu MYMV and CLS. The positive and significant correlations of plant, height with pods/plant, yield/plant and of pods/plant with yield/plant were observed in both the years. The MYMV and CLS reactions had negative and significant correlations with yield, pods/plant in both the years.
