Correlation coefficients and selection indices were studied in 19 genotypes of foxtail millet, Grain vield per plant showed significant positive association with 1000 grain weight, ear length number of eare per plant, days to maturity and days to heading. Grain weight and number of ears per plant had significant positive association with each other. With the help of discriminant enols function, selection indices were computed to determine the efficacy of selection using traits other then yield. It could be soon that the traite number of cars, car length and 1000 greit welght could be utilized for this purpose with a fair degree of success.
