A Phase Contrast Study of the Larvae of Spodoptera

Abstract

Phase contrast microscope study revealed ten types of haemocytes viz.Prohaemocytes Plasmatocy- tes.spindle form cells .vermiform cells,podocytes.cystocytes.spherul cells.granularhaemocytes, genocytoids and adipohaemocytes in haemolymph of spodatera litura larvae.The total haemocyte counts ranged from 22,000 to 25,400 cells with a mean of 23.440 cell mm2/of blood.
