Abstract

An investigation on the role of potassium in a susceptible cultivar of muskmelon(Cucumis melo L.)with specific reference to the phenoil metabolism indicates that K.nutrition increased both total and ortho-dihydroxy phenols in the healthyones.This inference was true in the case of inculated plants as well.with a concommitant reduction in wilt.Caffecic and ferulic(C4=C2 phenolic)acids were observed in the plants receiving 150 and 200kgK2O/ha.
