Black gram leaf crinkle virus Induced pollen stertility which ranged from 13.64 to 72.09 per cent depending on the variety of black gram.The significanse of pollen stertility as a limiting factor of yield is discussed.The study on ditribution of BLCY in the seeds of black gram revealed that the virus was present in the plumule.radicle and cotyledons of the germinating seed but not in the seed coat.The virus was found at a higher frequency in the plumule.
