A study of the influence of six leguments hosts on the pulse beetle.Callosobruchus chinensis L.revelee that ovipositional preference was in the oeder of cowpea.field bean.bengal gram.red gram and black gram .Fecundity was higher when bred on green gram and black gram then bred on green gram.Best growth was niticed on cowpea.green gram and black gram was noticed on cowpea.green gram and black gram ovipositional preference was of the beatle was not related to the suitability of the seed for development.in the infested seeds.the percentage of loss in weight had a negative correlation with the germination percentage in all pulses tested.
