Fify seven single crosses produced from among forty two inbreds were tested in a replicated trial.The degree of heteros- is exhibited by the different combinations recorded increse grain yields of more than 100 per cent over their respective greater parents.The grain weight per cob and the number of row appeared to determine the grain yield.while the row number did not seem to much Influence the yield.
