The effect of five levels of phosphorus viz.,15,30,45,60 and 75 kg P2O2/ha along with a control on the respiratory rate, -activity of enzymes and photosynthetic rate on ADT 27 rice was studied at different sttages of crop growth.Irrespective of the treatements phophorus levels reduced rates in young seedlings of 15days as well as in the crop of 75days afetr transplanting.Regarding the othr intermediate stages in respect of the aspect,there was no consistency in the results obtained and the pattern of respiration did not indicate any direct relationship with phophorus levels.
