Abstract

Root rot caused by Macrphominaphaseoli(Maubl.)Ashby(Syn.Sclerotrum baraticola Taub.Rhizocionia batatocola Taub.(Butl)is one of the most important diseases of sunflower in TamilNadu.Several worke- rs reported that M.phaseol infected seeds did play a major role in perpetuation of the diseases(Garren an Higgins.1947.Shanmugam and Govindaswamy,1973)The present study reports the evaluation of seed dressing fungicides against M.phaseoli in vitro as well as the effect on the germination of sunflo- wer seeds.
