Abstract

The Ceded Districts of Anantapur, Bellary, Cuddapah and Kurnool constitute 20.8% of the total land area of the Madras State, which is about 807 million acres. Out of this a net area of 7-6 million acres is under the plough. The area under irrigation is small compared with the total area available for cultivation as indicated
