(Note:-Investigations into the finance and marketing of cultivators cotton in Tirupur town and in two representative villages of the Indian were carried out by the authhor with the aid of a scholarship from the Indian Central Cotton Committee to 1932 and 1933 and two reports were submitted the first for the town and the second for the villages.The article below is an abridgement of the first.The other on growing.finance and marketing of cotton in villages of the tract has been published in "Agriculture and Livestock in India"of January 1935.)
